Stuck On Major Sun, 15 December 2013 02:02
Does anyone have any idea why I am stuck on Major. I have played almost every scenario and won both sides. What am I missing. Also I have played about 600 games total.

You need ten wins from each side in each theatre, I think I have found your flaw: I don't think you are there yet. I have looked at your career and after "subtracting" these scenarios:

Don't count theses maps :

Western
[Normandy]Bretel wood
[Normandy]Vaumicel Manor
Bastogne Corridor east
Bastogne Corridor west
Battle for hill 178
Carentan
Carentan Causeway
Counter attack at Arras
Forêt d'Écouves
Gold Beach
Moyland wood
Operation Goodwood
Opération Spring
Strasbourg
Utah beach

Eastern Front
Battle of Kalatch
Battle of Warsaw
Lipovec
Russian breakout
Rzhev

Pacific Theater
Bloody Ridge
Clearing Matanikau river
Tenaru

Mediterranean Theater
Gallabat & Mettemma
Knightsbridge
Mignano Monte Lungo
Montélimar
Toulon
Tunisia

I come to the following numbers for you per theatre:

Western:
28 Allied wins
18 Axis wins

Eastern:
25 Allied wins
26 Axis wins

Pacific:
42 Allied wins
9 Axis wins

Mediterranean:
21 Allied wins
30 Axis wins

So I feel that you need another Axis win in the Pacific with the Axis to get you to ten for each front.

(If there is an number of games needed to be played like 250 you have passed that a long time ago as you have played 376 since becoming a Major. maybe you need to have played a certain amount of majors, but with these statistics I feel you have managed that too.)

So get that 1 AxIs win in one of these following scenarios and I think you will be promoted.

Good luck and let us know if it worked.

One of these:

Pacific Theater, scenarios that count for LT. Colonel promotion
Guam Landings (Guam)
Japanese Counterattack (Guam)
Matanikau River (Guadalcanal)
Slopes of Mount Austen (Guadalcanal)
Sugar Loaf and Half Moon
The Meat Grinder (Iwo Jima)
Wake Island

Wake Island or Meat Grinder gives you the best chance to get that needed win quickly.

Jeronimon, you're absolutely sure those maps don't count? I saw a much shorter list. Just want to be sure before I give any more time to the ones on your list. I've played and won many of them working toward LT-COL, but would like to know for sure at this point what counts and what doesn't...

Thanks for your help on this! (And I'll check out the thread Parker referred to...

I do not give advice lightly (as you have read). Smile

But there are still some questions unanswered so we will keep on digging.

I really appreciate your team contribution and outlook. In the first post it was more an expression of mourning the fact that I had been working on trying nearly all the scenarios in each of the fronts, enjoying them greatly (which is why I play), but trying for promotion, and then suddenly seeing my "possibly only 6 wins away LTCol slide away to something near 24 more wins. But I'm having fun, really! And the clarification help as I chat with Lt's and Captains who want to advance.

Thank you again for your advice. Taken with great appreciation and comradeship.

Ypa!
