French Open 2014 scenarios Tue, 03 June 2014 14:44
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems as if two of the new maps by Jacques ("Lingevres" and "Marvindière") don't use any special rules not yet included in M44O. What about adding them to the official scenario list?

Appears you are correct in briefly scanning over the scenarios, BCF rules and special unit designators, both of which exist already online.

Guess it would be up to the powers that be to designate both as official and online for out enjoyment.

Looks like a great time had by all at the French Open and not the tennis tournament! Appears several online players did rather well and most recognizable names on the list of contestants.

Technically these could work online, but these two are suppossed to gave British Armour that moves 3 and has Battle Back

That doesn't exist in the online game (not that that matters much, see Arras)

IIRC, there is no way to get British rules on tanks and allow them to move three/turn.

Correct, but we did not care for Arras so we may not care now

Blitz rules are in effect at Arras, as are British Commonwealth rules. I think it is correct.

Battle of Hong Kong was the problematic scenario. Couldn't get 3-hex armor movement with Stiff Upper Lip.

Zut! I forgot about that again. So we remain without any new online maps ... although I can't imagine that things like changing the range of British tanks from two to three hexes would afford more than a few minutes of programming. What is the use of launching gigantic new projects like Operation Neptune while we have been kept waiting for minor bugfixes and updates for literally years now? A car company is primarily measured by its maintenance and support for its current and older models, not so much by its newest prototypes. Shouldn't the same be true for game companies?

It is obvious that other game programmes are generating more revenue for DoW and hence receiving more development effort.

The term we used when I was a programmer was "orphan" for a programme that no longer received support and delevopment, i.e. it had been abandoned by its parent.

It is was an extremely heavy heart that I write these comments. I would be overjoyed if DoW were to prove me wrong, but they don't.

Where is the implementation of the equipment pack units and scenarios?
Where are the bug fixes.

DoW if you don't want to develop or support M44 online then make the source code open source and let us the enthusiasts do it. PLEASE.

I got the "Major Howard" award for "For outstanding contribution beyond the call of duty during Beta-testing" where I used my professional software testing and development skills to provide feedback on the beta versions of M44 online. I'd like the opportunities to continue this and I would if the source was opened up.

DoW if you're not developing it please find a way where we can help you.
