3 new paper maps, 2 battles in France 40. Will we get a French expansion before the british?
I would welcome it, but I bet Roobarb will not be very very happy

i think it would be cool to have rules for all guns fire (cant think of the code word) that the brits used for an emergency artillery strike.

Assuming that you can get hold of alternative figures (Matchbox, ESCI...), why do we actually need DoW to produce a British expansion? Is it just for the look of the thing?
Though I would be among the first to go out and buy two sets...

There are 4 main reasons to come out with the British Expansion:
(1) Nation specific rules (British Stiff upper lip)
(2) More official Scenarios covering North Africa, the Med and Burma.
(3) Consistency in the look of the game. Yes I can come up with my home grown British units but it will be expensive and will not look quite right.
(4) It is the right thing to do.
Game on!

I don't even think that getting a British army is that important, I would really rather get a lot more scenarios, more iteresting terrain. However, I would like more army special rules, like the marines have. I find it insulting to Germany that their army was by far the best in WW2 but they get no recognition of that. I would also like some more desert scenarios, like El Alemein or Gazala.
I think that italian non-specialized forces should get some cowerdice bonus, like they must retreat 2 on every flag rolled. The British really only had good artillery but bad commanders during the war, so maybe their artillery gets one extra die, but their tanks can only move 2.(Showing that their commanders were still in a WW1 mindset) The Germans should also get a bonus for having their heavy tanks(Panthers and tigers) instead of just getiing 4 figs.
Just some of my ideas to make it seem more historical.

Nice ideas -- but, again, is it actually necessary for DoW to produce an official expansion? Surely we can incorporate those into house rules?
Given a choice between a British (or other) expansion and unlimited access to the scenario editor, I'd far rather have the latter. Seems like every time I try to access it to create a scenario, my period has run out again.
Or, given the cost of producing expansions, maybe it would be better for DoW to simply PAY people to create scenarios: like, even just a piddling 10 USD, for any that the officially sanction as being a great scenario -- or that other users rate as that.
Or maybe DoW could sell figures made by other companies on DoW...?

Maybe the expansion should get a webcode,it can have new figures, like Tigers,Panthers, and Bombers for each side. And the expansion should be shipped everywhere, where the fans should buy from local webpages.

personally i think that elite tanks should be released - Ie tiger for the germans, churchills for the brits, Sherman 105s for the yanks and finally the KV2 for the russians.
perhaps with each elite tan pack an army card - ie marines/japanese could be released.

Yes, because house rules are just that: house rules.
I played most of the fan based desert scenarios, (some of them are very good), and there are several implementations of "armored cars" and "light tanks" units, all different! So if somebody else decides to use an armored car in his scenario, which one will it be?
And the British did fight differently than the Americans, more dissimilar than the difference between Marines and Army.

The only thing I learned at GenCon is that people who are wanting answers about future M44 plans will have them "soon."
Some of the DOW staff admitted that they were as vocal about their plans as other companies but said that they would rather not say anything about what was going to happen until they were sure.

I hope it includes new Mediterranean battles that don't already exist online. Now that would be annoying.

It wouldn't be that bad. No offense to us users and our scenarios, but we don't usually play-test them as well as we could or design them as well as others. Of course there are exceptions to the rule (like Brummbar and jdrommel) but most of us don't make the best scenarios. I wouldn't mind if DoW came out with Med. scenarios that were already out there...because they would be official and I would know they are well designed and well tested!
Anyone know what the figres look like?

I am fairly certain they will be brand new. That has always been the pattern (with the exception of the Air Pack whcih was purposely meant to have "old" scenarios).

Oh, I see what Zasdert was asking... I thought he was hoping that the scenarios would be ones that we didn't have on SFTF.
With as many scenarios that are on SFTF, I would think it'll be kind of hard to find a battle that someone hasn't tried. But I'm sure DoW will include new scenarios!

They usually make the rule book available a little bit after they officially anounce the coming release. That way we can read over the rules before we pre-order it. I would bet it's all going to happen in the first part of September! But don't quote me on that.
