Did Memoir '44 make anyone else have to go out and buy Battle Cry! This game was so good I couldn't help myself.

I have had Battle Cry for about two years and still enjoy it. After taking the summer off,I am just finishing a two board scenario on Chickamunga. I enjoy playing both games and hope we get some two board scenarios for Memoir 44. In my opinion, the larger two board scenarios lessen the luck factor. Some examples of two board scenarios for Battle Cry are at this site. http://www.thewargamer.com/BattleCry/.

Actually, yes...

Noth familiar with (war)games involving the use of cards at all, a couple of months ago I wrote a set of miniature rules "Jolly Roger", making use of event cards extensively. This actually made me buy M44 (and subsequently Battle Cry, meanwhile transformed into a 15mm tabletopgame, with the addition of houserules). Both great games, but at the same time I'm very pleased I wrote my pirate-rules prior to discovering mr Borg's games because I'm sure they would have influenced me heavily (not a bad thing, but now at least I've designed my own system).

You can view the 15mm Battle Cry variant at

if you like.

Brian,

For me it was the opposite. I had played Battle Cry for years, so I knew Memoir 44 had to be great too. Cool

Rudi, I am interested in your rules. Are they posted anywhere?

Bill,

No they're not; the main reason being they're in Flemish (Dutch). However, they seem to be working well for my local club of experienced players, so I'm willing to translate'm en put'm on my site. It'll take a while, but I'll inform the community as soon as the job is cleared.
