  1912 in Europe... Thu, 06 August 2009 14:55
- Thousands flocked to Sweden for the 1912 Stockholm Olympics...

- French aviator Henri Seimet made the first non-stop flight from Paris to London...

- Explorer Roald Amundsen announced to the world that his team, via skis and dog sled, had successfully reached the South Pole...

- and tragically, over 1,500 were lost when the Titanic struck ice on it's maiden sea voyage...

Far-off travel and heroic adventure sparked the imaginations of countless Europeans who dreamed of "seeing the world". While exotic travel could be attempted only by a few, the great rail lines of Europe more than fulfilled the romantic travel dreams of the rest - the Flying Scotsman from Edinburgh to London; the Chemins de fer de Paris à Lyon et à la Méditerranée; and the legendary Orient Express from London to Istanbul.

To relive this classic era of European train travel Days of Wonder introduces Ticket to Ride Europa 1912 - a new expansion for this award-winning train game series.

This expansion delivers 55 new Destination Tickets (plus the originals) and 3 new ways to play Ticket to Ride Europe; and introduces Warehouses & Depots - new game rules and pieces that add an exciting can be played with ANY of the Ticket to Ride maps.

Learn all about it by visiting the Ticket to Ride Europa 1912 webpage. The expansion will be available worldwide in October and while we highly recommend scheduling a train trip to Essen, Germany to pick up a copy, you will also find it at your favorite game store!

The price will be $20/¤15, the same price as the USA 1910 expansion.

Looks very good!
This will be a must have, with the warehouses looking like a fresh variation.

BUT, if warehouses are to be used with Märklin or Nordic countries, the colours of the warehouses wouldn't match the player colours in those games.
Small thing, but it will look strange. Or you could use the trains from Euorpe or USA.

Can we expect a Märklin 19xx in the future too?

I would also like too see a downloadable expansion which shows how you can use the Märklin passengers on the other maps. A small map showing where to put the passenger tokens at setup.

It looked to me like the warehouses are kind of generic instead of player-specific. So maybe the rules for the warehouse allow players to use them no matter what color they are. Rolling Eyes Just a guess.

My wife and I are excited for this expansion. Ticket to Ride Europe is our favorite of the TTR games and this looks like a fun addition! Very Happy

Hopefully my local store will have this promptly after release, waiting for it already.

(When) is there going to be online version of the europe 1912 expansion?
