Let's Play OVERLORD -- Saturday, November 17, on Vassal!	Tue, 13 November 2012 14:54

We haven't had an online Overlord in three months, and I've got a free Saturday morning, so Carpe Diem! We'll play "Offensive on Saint-Lo," from the new Equipment Pack. I saw the end of this being played at WBC over the summer, and it was a great battle. (If you're interested in learning this multi-player Overlord version of Memoir, sign up here, and I'll come online earlier to teach you. Also, if you haven't played Overlord before, download the rules from the Memoir website's Rules & Goodies page.) NEW OVERLORD SCENARIO -- Saturday, November 17. > 06:00 in San Diego > 09:00 in New York (Note to self: This may be a bad time for the server.) > 14:00 in London > 15:00 in France, Germany, Belgium, etc. > Other countries, you know where you are. Post a message here if you want to be in it. We will be using version 10.7 of the Memoir module. Download the new version from the Modules page at http://www.vassalengine.org . Also, Vassal is currently at version 3.1.1.19. Click the Download link on the Vassal page. Please download your files before game time, so we don't delay the start. I'll be online at least 30 minutes beforehand, to help anybody who has questions or technical problems, or who wants a refresher on units. Sam, can I be in on this one? I should be free on saturday between 14:30 and 17:00 Paris time on Saturday. I hope 2 hours to play is enough. I have played 13 overlord games already, and feel familiar with the rules. I have played both as General in chief and as Field General. However, I have never played on vassal. I can't play that day. The current version of VASSAL is 3.1.20, not 3.1.1.19. I think I'll have released module version 10.8 before the weekend. Can get you a save file of the scenario for 10.8 if you like. [Reporter ce message au modérateur]

If we can have a second volunteer CinC, and if the CinCs can agree in advance about who will take which side, that's half the battle. Then, they can open up a private channel and pick teams quickly and efficiently, and we can get started within a few minutes of the announced game time. It's difficult to choose teams before the announced game time, because the attendees can't always be predicted in advance. [Reporter ce message au modérateur]

I can do CiC for the other side, and take over for a FG if someone quits after 3 or 4 hours, or has to be removed when one of his girlfriends gets jealous. I think you said there was a trick to setting up your position if you have to leave or taking over another's, but I didn't get the instructions. [Reporter ce message au modérateur]

Sorry Sam, cant make it since we have a M44 gathering together with Jazz, Erik Uitdebroeck and Binozoet planned. Also, may i be so direct to note that your annoincement is a bit late minute sir The choice off scenario is shurely great ! Would love to do an OL in the Pacific sometime !
