Cross-Platform (Android/iOS) Wed, 12 June 2013 15:32
The one reason I was willing to pay $7 for a board game I already own was cross-platform support. However, I cannot locate any of my friends through the Lobby, by doing a search in the Players tab of Online Games, through the Days of Wonder website, or when I have my friends set up a game and try to locate them in the Lobby.

Hopefully an expert from Days of Wonder can write a how-to, because it sounds like there are a lot of us who cannot get this to work.

I also cannot get this to work. Searching for my Apple friends in the lobby isn't working, and my friends can't see my games when I create them with a password. Since I do not own an Apple device I can't join their GameCenter.

At this point I feel very misled by the official forum post announcing cross-platform availability... that was the whole reason I bought the game in the first place =(

Help please!

You friends would need to be playing Ticket to Ride for iPad. There's no online play in Ticket to Ride Pocket, which is the version on the iPhone or iPod Touch.

Not sure on android/iOS (devs, anyone?), but I do know that iPod/iPhone can play against iPad. As for online lobby, you're right, but iPod/iPhone can play against iPad, I know this for a fact.

That's because the iPhone and iPad are both have Local Play option which is not on the Android version. This may be that it uses iOS Game Center to handle the Local Play connection. The iPhone version is also on the only version that does Multi, which is asynchronous play, allowing you to quit the app until it's your turn to play.

Is it possible to play the Android version against the IOS players?

I mean, to create a game on the Android version, will it be seen from the IOS player?

You should be able to play against someone who has Ticket to Ride for iPad, but not Ticket to RIde Pocket or Ticket to Ride Europe Pocket.

Yes, any player will be able to see your game no matter what platform they are using. The reason the Pocket versions won't work is because they don't go online the same way. I believe the only way to play them against other people is Asynch play or local play, but I would have to check that to be sure.
