Solo Scores Not Saved Thu, 20 June 2013 22:04
I've played a few games of the Android TTR on my Nexus 10. Some of these were played with no internet connection, some while on wi-fi. I've played a couple of casual multiplayer games too.

None of my Solo scores are retained. Each time I look at the table, there's only a single score in the #1 position with the current game score in it and --- everywhere else.

Is there something I can do about this? Is it an issue with the Nexus10, or something wider with the Android app? Or is it because I play with the wi-fi turned off frequently?

Anyone?

It's really lowering the replay value of the app for me. It's fairly trivial to beat the AI on any number of player settings, so one of the huge replay draws on the PC version was to try to get a new higher, high score.

It's actually getting slightly depressing to see that one entry board each time I finish a game.

Seconded.

Bad enough a pricey app like this launched with such a glaring bug. Fix it already!

I've had similar issues with leaderboard. it was hit or miss if my high score would be there next time I look. The only thing I can figure out is any new high scores get wiped out if the game crashes before i have a chance to exit all the way out. Since the game crashes about once a day on my galaxy tab 2 7" it can be annoying.
Of course it hasn't stopped me from playing every chance I get. Smile

I will also run into the issue where the initial map is blacked out on a new game. I would clear the RAM and it would solve the rendering problem, but again, lose any new high scores.

I've learned to exit the game properly if I get a score on my leaderboard. From what I can tell this seems to work. By exit properly I mean use the game's arrow in the upper left until the main screen and then use my tablets back arrow.

I would love an expansion to the leaderboard. My Big Cities and Mega Game scores are so high that any other board can't get a high enough score to get on the leaderboard. I've been using old fashioned pen and paper to track my Europe and Asia scores.

I was doing screenshots but got accused of photoshopping my score by my husband so gave it up. Smile

Any other suggestions about making leaderboard work better?

LOVE THIS GAME! have most of the board games and purchased the mobile for ipad, kindle and android. Money very well spent. Crossing fingers for Small World. Overall Days of Wonder totally exceeded expectations with it!!!

Interesting...

I've think I've tried everything, but I'll double-check that combo of TTR back button followed by Android's back button. So far, no matter what I do, if the app unloads from memory, the high scores are completely wiped.

Both myself and the OP are using N10s. Maybe it's platform specific.

I've also resorted to screen shots for my best score. Photoshop would have been a lot easier. Smile

It'd be nice if the high score list synched to/from our DoW account if we had signed into the online area. That might make the issue moot and protect high scores from being lost during a system wipe etc as well.

[edit]

Thanks mm2506! That works. Upper left arrow back to the main screen followed by an android back/last button to exit the app saves my high score. Just never tried it that way, I suppose. Silly hoop to have people jump through, but it's nice to have a workaround.

Excellent that works! It's going to take a bit of concentration to get out of the habit of just hitting the Home button on the tablet, but this is a major improvement on where I was yesterday.
