Not random enough race/ability combos? Sun, 22 September 2013 06:09
After playing this for a week, both multiplayer and solo, it *appears* to me that certain race/ability combinations appear much more often than chance. Anyone else noticed? Or is it just me?

This has been suggested by others as well, so it's not just you. Smile DoW has assured us that the combinations are fully random and in tabletop games I've actually seen repeated combinations way more than I would expect as well.

"Random" is actually a lot less random than we expect. Razz

Isn't the ability of humans to recognize patterns in randomness awesome? ^_^

Not saying you're wrong, mind you. Just that you're gonna need a much larger sample size to show there is a problem with the random race picker.

Before today, my last 5 consecutive games on the iPad had the Giants as the first race on the board.

I've been playing a lot of two player the past few days. Typically each player uses 2 to 3 races in a game. So we never really see a lot. But invariably one of our used races/power combos pops up as we start the next game. So I'm seeing it, too.
