Much in the spirit of D&D's famous last quotes, we've come across a number of fun quotes across our play-tests. Should you experience the same, please feel free to post these here.

From memory, a few contributions, to get started (well at least those that were printable Laughing ) ...

"Forgotten tribe, forgotten tribe... I wished!" - a disgruntled local...

"Beginner's luck!" - Kneecap, Skeleton recruit, after a particularly lucky reinforcement die roll

"True, we didn't capture much... But at least, we aren't dead!" - Scapula, Skeleton general and Kneecap's boss, after an unlucky reinforcement die roll a couple of turns later...

"We were just waiting for you; Care to play knucklebones?" - Calculus, Skeleton scout

"Chief, we're down to a skeletal crew!" - a lone Skeleton patrol

"Unsinkable we are, unsinkable!" - Globl, Triton bard, after finally reaching the Sea

We had a song break out in our game last night.

"Kobolds go marching two by two, hurrah, hurrah
Kobolds go marching two by two, hurrah! hurrah!"

You know, I still remember reading through the rules the first time and being amazed that "skeleton crew" was a pun that was never employed!

Famous last words: "So we agree to only attack the forgotten tribe this turn, right?" (followed by a very convincing nod from the treacherous opponent)

-Unsuspecting player: "Wow guys, I got twenty points in one turn!"

-Troll captain (to messenger/scout): "Sorcerers? *snort* Those guys are about as good of fighters as we are mathematicians. One platoon should be sufficient defense."

I wouldn't think diplomat can protect from the balrog.

Depends on whether or not moving the Balrog into the Diplomat Pixies is considered an attack by the race controlling the Balrog. Diplomat protects against attacks and the active use of racial or special powers. We've interpreted that to mean it stops your opponent of choice from using anything against you that actively targets one of your territories... including the use of relics and popular places.
If Diplomat Pixies can successfully negotiate a treaty prohibiting hostile acts by another race against them, you'd think something like that race's pet Balrog would be included under the list of "Things you Keep to Yourselves".
