Organized Play Kit - A Few Questions Tue, 07 January 2014 17:26
I've been thinking about running a M44 game for a local gaming convention, using the Organized Play Kit that is available. However, I have no experience running such an event. So I have a few questions:

Which scenarios are included with the kit?

How long should I schedule this event for?

If you've run such an event, any suggestions to make it run smoothly?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciate. Thank you gents!

Hello,

I think in Europe is not available (it wasn`t when I asked). If I am not wrong, it included two copies of an Overlord scenarios.

Maybe they reprint the kits for the upcoming 10th Anniversary this summer.

Cheers

Actually ran it at a local convention (I am looking at you, JerkCon V).

Had 8 of us to play the overlord map (Hedgerow Hell). Gave the extra map out as an award to the winner.

Can you give me idea of how long the game took to play? I need to reserve a block of time.

Is Hedgerow Hell the map/scenario? I'd like to have that info for the event description,

Crankee, took the 8 of us less than 2 hours. Most were familiar with the game.

Hedgerow Hell is an Overlord map set.

Ok, thanks. I know hedgerow hell is an OL map, was asking if that was one included in kit.

Have you checked to make sure the Organized Play kits are still available? Like someone else said, these were introduced a long time ago and they might be out of stock right now. So before you plan too far expecting these kits, you might make sure you can use them...or find another option.

Good luck! Cool

I looked through the responses and you're the first one to mention that they these were introduced a long time ago. Is that relevant to ordering something from DoW?

I would assume it's still in stock as it only states that it is out of stock in Europe and I live in the US. I'm also able to proceed through the order (up to making the payment) without anything being kicked back.

I'm starting to think that this may be more trouble than it's worth.

The only reason their release date (or introduction for general use) would matter is to see if they still have kits available. If you are able to order a kit, then go for it! It means they still have some available and you should definitely use them.

As for if they are more trouble than they're worth, only you can answer that. However, trying to build the scenario on the day of the event and keep the tiles in place is a major pain, so having the Battle Map is a really good idea! It also gives you a natural prize to give someone at the end, which is always nice.

If the OPK included the Battle Map I would be surprised since Hedgerow Hell has been OOP for a long time.
When I add the kit to my cart my cart comes up as empty..

Hello!

The Organized Play Kits page has indeed been on the site for quite some times now...
I'm afraid we forgot to pull it out when the program ended which I will be doing right now...

For the record, did any of you ordered one of those kits since the beginning of the year?
If so, please just post an answer in this thread and we'll investigate the matter...

Thanks
And sorry for this...

Thanks for updating this, I was going to place an order as well, I thought it might be nice to set up a game at my FLGS. I may still do it, I just got a copy of the Overlord expansion so I am ready to play Smile
