River Mouth == Shoreline || Beach ? Sun, 29 June 2014 23:03
With River Mouth fordable in D-Day Landings, does it count as Shoreline or Beach when adjacent to a hill? Normally River Mouth would be impassable, so it wouldn't be a problem, but now units can traverse. River mouth looks like shoreline or beach, but does that make it so, and which? Or does it simply count as "inland side"?

In short:
Does a hill adjacent to a river mouth count as Bluff (River Mouth acts as Beach)?
Does a hill adjacent to a river mouth count as Cliff (River Mouth acts as Shoreline)?

Edit: it does say river mouth mouth does not count as beach for Beach Control, but that might only apply to Beach Control and not to adjacent hills.

It looks like every hill on every map that is adjacent to a river mouth is also adjacent to a ocean hex/beach hex/coast line hex...

..except the single 'inland' hill on the Utah map.

So everyone of those Hill hexes are either Cliffs or Bluffs, except that single one on Utah.

If it would come up, I'd be inclined to treat that Hill as a normal Hill.

In effect they are making those river mouths fordable rivers,so any attacks / moves / retreats between them and hills are as the normal rules.

Indeed, I think they are to be considered inland terrain when adjacent to hills that are also cliffs/bluffs.

In the D-Day Landings expansion, a fordable River Mouth is considered a Coastline hex. Therefore a hill hex next to a River Mouth hex would be considered a Cliff.

ok, so to be clear, in D-Day Landings, a fordable river is considered a coastline hex.

This means the LCs can drop off their loads onto a fordable river hex, correct?
