Overlord maps revisited (Tigers in the Snow!) Wed, 16 July 2014 18:22
OK - like some others, I have recently gotten heavily into Memoir 44 and have been picking up the components I need to play overlord scenarios. I managed to grab two of the four battlemap expansions, but Tigers in the Snow is just not out there anymore. I don't care about the Tiger minis - i have a few copies of the Equipment Pack. But I would love to see the battlemaps released as hi-res PDF files. The cost to print color maps that size at a place like Kinkos is not that cheap, but I would still be willing to buy the PDF at a reasonable cost.

I see that the Air Pack, Campaign Book 1 and Bonus Scenarios have been released as PDF files for purchased (I own them all). Is there any plan to also provide the Tigers in the Snow, Market Garden, (and other) larger scale maps as PDF files? Trying to collect the necessary boards and terrain for these scenarios to recreate the maps is very prohibitive for most - even someone like me who is spending money to get expansion copies...

I don't know exactly what you mean by PDF.
http://www.daysofwonder.com/memoir44/en/editor/view/?id=4708 here you can find the briefing of Tigers in the snow and you can also print the PDF. Ofcourse you still have you make your own board. With 2 W/D boards and some other expansion this can work.

If I would want tot print Tigers in the snow it costs me 15 Euro. Of course this is without operation market garden who has a different map size......

Sorry - I wasn't clear: I would like DoW to sell high resolution versions of the battlemaps as PDF files. To make Tigers in the Snow, for example, requires quite a bit in terms of additional boards, expansions (and base game) copies. I would like to see, at some point, DoW offer the PDFs of the various maps in resolution large enough to take to a Kinkos or other print service.

As an illustration - to recreate the boards for Tigers you need two copies of the winter / desert boards and 3 copies of the Winter Wars expansion for the terrain. If you want the figures, that's more expansions (including two of the Equipment Pack, unless you don't need the specific Tiger figures and go with 4 tanks for each and an elite badge).

Providing the maps, at least, for fans to print, allows us to play the scenario and perhaps compels people to buy more expansions for the actual units themselves.

Just a thought.

The other thing is the battle map version is a little deeper than the standard boards as well. The versions shown on the DoW site are altered for the standard boards.

Only Operation Market Garden is deeper than normal. All other Battle Maps use the board default depth.
