  D-Day Landings AARs Fri, 18 July 2014 16:29
Hi officers,

We made the D-Day Landings scenarios available online so that you can post your AARs. Please note that because of software constraints, the upper part of each scenario is missing, but that should not prevent you from entering your reports.

Also, as you may notice, there are no Entry Markers nor new River Mouth hexes on the maps. This is because we had to manually modify existing hexes to have a smooth coastline on the printed maps (ie we did not use the scenario editor for the new River Mouth hexes). This will be updated in the future.

Here is the list of the D-Day Scenarios:
(they will also show up if you sort the official scenarios by Last Edit)
Sword Beach
Juno Beach
Gold Beach
Omaha Beach
Utah Beach
American Airborne

Cheers

Thanks, Antoine.

Any recommendation on how to handle multi-board battles, such as Juno-Gold, or even the full 6 maps?

I thought about creating "fake" Overthrough scenarios with just the title. For example "D-Day Overthrough: Sword+Juno". The map would be empty but at least it would allow players to write their AARs. What do you think?

I think better to have the information than not. The map would be a nice visual, but could be added at a later date possibly.

Antoine, I think that would make a lot of sense, and would help build interest in the expansion.

Would it be a problem to include all of the possible combos of 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 maps? 4 and 5 might be less used, but it would be good for them to have a home.

Great plan, As others have said, it would increase the interest in playing the bigger maps if people can read about the experience of other players.

Well done Smile

Any word on when the Equipment Expansion Bonus scenarios (8 in all) will be added to the official site?

Antoine,

can we expect an update to the Editor software in the near future with all the new features implemented?

Thanks

Done. Official scenarios, sort by last edit.

I honestly don't know... I'll ask about that.

Not before September, and it will only include the new River Mouth tiles and the Entry tokens.

I just wanted to post a result for Sword-Juno battle that my son and I finished. The score was 29-25 allies. My son had Allies and cleared all 6 beaches and occupied 3 towns on the Sword map for 13 medals. I was hamstrung with very few reinforcements, especially on Sword where they could have quickly got into the fight. My baseline starting units did make it to the beach but didn't have much support. His cards and dice were fair or it would have been worse. He did get some nice reinforcements, 1 mobile arty, special force armor and and a couple of supported inf.

In conclusion, I was surprised how a difference of one die on the reinforcement roll made such a big difference on the results. It is really tough for the Germans if you don't get them quickly. You just get overwhelmed on the beaches. That said, we had a great time playing these super sized maps. We will definitely play the others.
