Definitive contents list? Tue, 05 December 2006 19:42
Does anyone have a contents list for the game?

My copy just arrived, so I opened it up and set up all the figures - I only have three hobgoblin archers (including the banner bearer), is this right? I thought that all foot units were in units of four.

Everything else seems OK, but without a list I can't be sure, and I'd like to check.

I've just checked through, comparing troops to banners (and assuming four figures for foot, three for cavalry) and I'm missing two figures:

1x Hobgoblin archer
1x Green-banner foot soldier (human)

Not bad, but will be happier when I've got my full complement.

If anyone finds an extra hobgoblin archer and green-banner human in their box, you know where they came from! Very Happy

In terms of figures, you should be able to work out what you should have from the list in the back of the rule book. Each cavalry banner should have two extra matching figures and each foot banner should have an additional three matching figures. Plus the giant spider and lore cups, of course.

You can check the lore cards because there should be 15 of each of the four disciplines and they are numbered. I counted 60 command cards also.

It certainly would have been useful to have an inventory. It's part of the new game ritual!

That was my approach for the figures, got them sorted and the two mentioned above are missing. Hadn't gotten round to the cards and bits yet, soon! Soon! Just a bit busy with all the lovely plastic right now... and mailing my gaming buddy to tell him it's arrived!

I've created a rudimentary spreadsheet listing the contents of the game.

http://website.lineone.net/~steve_hill/BattleLore.xls

I make no guarantees that it is 100% accurate!

You forgot some minis actually.

The question about contents was asked before on the french forum.

The right number seems to be (but not confirmed by Dow)

Banner bearer + minis to complete those banner bearer + 2 gobelins infantery.

Total : 219 minis.

The rest of the components is correct.

Thanks ... I have updated to include the two extras. I had noticed this in my box, but wasn't sure if this was a mistake, or common to all of them.

I think you have listed 2 blue pennant banners too many (or I am missing those). The box says 15 extra banners, and you list 17.

Could you mean standard banners (the ones with the fleur-de-lys on), as I'm "missing" those too...

Regarding the figures count:

The number of banner bearers in each game (ie the number of banners that come already attached to a figure, placed in its own individual spot inside one of the two blisters) should match the count written on page 79 of the rulebook.

On the other hand, the number of figures with no banners attached, and the number and composition of banners with no figures attached, may vary slightly from one game set to the next. This is because despite our best effort during assembly, we simply cannot guarantee an exact count on these parts.

Please contact us for spare pieces ONLY if:
- you are missing some banner bearers (this should almost never happen, and you would see it immediately when looking at the blisters)
- or if you are missing enough figures that it makes it impossible to assemble complete units per the adventures offered in the Adventures booklet.

Also, please note that Adventure # 9 has a misprint. There should only be one goblin archer unit in the woods, in the 3rd hex from the left of the map. The goblin archer unit next to it (in the 4th hex from the left) is an error, and should be a green goblin infantry unit, not an archer unit. The Online version of this adventure will feature the correct units, and be posted along with the Adventure Online editor, as soon as it becomes available.

Thank you for your understanding.

Sorry -- yes. My mistake. I have fixed it and also added a comment to the effect that only the core figures (i.e. those derived from the rule book listing) are required for and expected to be in the game.

Thank you very much for the list, very helpful.
I found two little mistakes though.

1) You count the creature twice which explains the total of 220 instead of 219.
2) For the hexes it should say "16 forest/river" instead of "16 hill/river"

Oh and I noticed I am missing 1 regular human infantry figure, but I have nothing to complain about, because instead of 2 I have 8 extra goblin swordsmen! That's 2 whole units! Very Happy

I guess I was lucky, too, because my game came with exactly what it was supposed to have, plus I got the 2 promo creatures.

Steve...on behalf of everyone here, thanks so much for all your work on the contents list. Much appreciated!!! Very Happy

On the downside for me, I haven't been able to open the file. Sad

What machine are you using, and what browser? The file is an Excel spreadhseet -- which perhaps you can't read.
