Can a wall piece be placed anywhere along the 3 sides, or must they connect?

You may build it anywhere as long as it is in a proper place (between the saphires). This is significant because the walls score bonus points if they touch the tiles from the mosaics already in place. Also, when the Door frames are built, they gain bonus points for walls that are connected to it so you may use this to minimize someone looking to build the frames after you.
