Anyone else tried this?
We played eighteen rounds instead of twelve. Just took the discarded treasure cards and re-dealt six to each island. Extended the game a little (always thought it was a little short...) and gave more of a chance to use cards, catch up, battle LP, etc. All players really enjoyed it.
I do think 24 rounds would be too long but haven't tried it yet. I recommend this to try if you haven't.

We've done 24 months. I don't quite remember how it ended but there is more fighting and bigger ships!

Sounds like fun! I just ordered this game a little while ago and can't wait for it to arrive. I might have to try this "extended game" idea once we understand how the game works.
