First why does Days of Wonder make game that are 2-5 player instead of 2-6 player?
Is registered games only for the main games not the expansions like "Ticket to Ride 1910"? (i have looked all the inside of the 1910 box and cannot find it)

Many game companies (or designers) make games that are 2-5 players...I don't know why. It's not uncommon, but it does make it hard to play with an even number of people. Some of the games provide expansions or versions that can be played with 6 people, so you might look for those!

Only the big games have the online code that gets you a 10% discount on your next purchase. One of the few exceptions to this rule is the Pacific Theater expansion for Memoir '44 that came with a code. The 1910 expansion does not have a code.

Well there IS Shadows over Camelot which can be played up to 7 (and 8 with or without the expansion)
Also, Memoir 44 Overlord is great for 8 players (I guess 6 would work fine as well) though you need a few expansions

Small World Realms (an expansion for Small World) is designed for 2-6 players and it's amazing fun!
Ticket to Ride Asia is also designed for 2-6 players with team play which sounds really fun. So there are options if you need.

what if three couples want to play, or a family of four and another couple want to play?
Just thought it was weird they picked 5, wanted to know why

Like I said, I think it's common practice and not just a choice by DoW. Many games of these types are 2-5 players, though I don't know why that is the magic number.

Well i just started getting into the European games and Days of Wonder games are highly rated and seem fun. It just seemed all the games here are that way, I thought it was a reason for it.
So it seems to play with more i have to spend more, grrrrr
thank you for the info

Indeed for some games. There's also the Fictionnaire series (4-7) which is great, and Gambit 7 (which I don't know) 3-21
I've read that some players add a sixth player to Ticket to Ride with trains from the Nordic expansion.
There was a 2-6 whodunit game as well but it's long out alas.
I'm with Ras on this one, the number of players is highly variable (settlers of catan is 3-4 base game for example), some don't work at all with 2 players. I've seen many more games playable up to 5 than 6, but then again that's just me.
