Answer: use american tanks. That's what the official scenarios do too ... Sword beach, juno beach, gold beach ... they were all taken by British troops, but the scenarios use american troops. The british troops are actually only supposed to be used in the desert. [Reporter ce message au modérateur]

The british troops are actually only supposed to be used in the desert.

But in that case, they will not get the "stiff upper lip" battle back, correct? Or is there some way to add that ability in the editor?

Originally the Expert Mode allowed you to play any way you wanted...so you could have British Tanks moving three hexes in the desert and battling back when they were down to two units. But there was enough frustration that the rules are now enforced a lot more. It means less freedom with the rules, but a lot less frustration too! [Reporter ce message au modérateur]

American tanks has the option of being set to limit their move to 2 in expert mode. They chose not to do this for British tanks, but set 2 as the default, because none of the scenarios that came with Mediterranean Pack allowed a move of 3. Very minimalist approach. In my opinion, the movement of three hexes is too many for armor on such a small board. The only way they should get 3 hexes is in an overrun. Most of my online scenarios limit all armor to 2 hexes. It brings more strategy into the scenario instead of running all over the board with tanks. [Reporter ce message au modérateur]

When you make the scenario in the editor just type in the scenario special rules that british tanks can move up to 3 hexes. [Reporter ce message au modérateur]

I wasn't paying attention, but this was a thread for the Online game, where it follows the rules programmed in, rather than just setting up face to face. I do agree that board for scenarios with lots of tanks is too narrow for a move of 3. I'd recommend they come out with an expansion to attach to the board on either side to give 11 rows instead of 9, and spaces for more than 6 medals each. I did try the breakthrough desert scenarios and they were fun yet long, and with tank battles. I think Operation Crusader was the best. Certainly our games ended 11-12 and 12-11. Battle of Hong Kong is my favorite Pacific Scenario. But it got frustrating that the Allied tank had to be British with Battle Back and moves 0-2, or American without that moves 0-3.
