Ranking and Versions

I am troubled by the ranking system. I play the 1910 megagame version almost exclusively (say, 98% of total games), either 2 or 4 player games. My ranking is over 1400 for megagame and for multiplayer, but is in the high 1200s for overall. Why such a big difference? It causes me some grief in that megagame players who request 1400+ games give me the boot.

I'm not the greatest expert on this, but i think you'll find that everyone has a (substantial) difference between their overall score and the scores on subdivisions like US or 2-player or multi or Mega etc.
It has something to do with the starting point in time if i'm right: overall score was originally the only available one. When the sub-scores were introduced there was immediately a big difference.

Thanks, Mr. Bean. Another possible reason came to me after reading your post. Perhaps, it has to do with the size of the player pool. Since there are fewer players in the Mega game, I can rate highly against them but still not compete with the top players who play the regular game and so are in the overall pool.

Where does one find such a detailed breakdown of rankings? All I can see is one overall score. I have Windows Steam version.

It's in your "User information".
I don't use Steam, but assume screens look (more or less) identical: if you're on the screen called "Play" you see a section labelled "Rank". If you click on that you see the overall ranking page 1 i.e. the top 20 players. Just above the list of those 20 you'll see your own rating and ranking. If you click on either of these, you'll be transferred to the page which contains the 20 players closest to you in the ranking, including yourself. Click on yourself and you will get an overview of your various ratings and rankings on the different maps.
