I do not understand the rules that determine how a destination ticket qualifies for a Grand Tour bonus??

I'm afraid I can't help you with this question because I haven't yet played the India map, but you might have better luck if you post your question over on the Ticket to Ride forum. There is a better chance that someone who knows the game will read your question and be able to give you some examples.
