Small World 6-Player Board now shipping in North America Wed, 22 January 2014 11:44
A little help from a friend won't be too much to ask if you want to conquer the biggest Small World so far... Pair up in teams and attempt to rule the land together. Despite the growing landscape, you'll find there still isn't enough room to accommodate you all!

In addition to the double-sided 6-player map (Small World on one side/Underground on the other), the 6 Player Board Expansion expansion includes 4 new Popular Places and a new Righteous Relic specifically designed for team play. You'll also find additional tokens, markers, Victory coins and the new 6-player Team rules.

Designed for 6 players fighting on either original Small World or Small World Underground, this expansion is now available from the Days of Wonder webstore and better game stores in North America. We're still aiming for arrival in late February in Europe.

Learn more about Small World 6-Player Map expansion or order your copy today!

Note: The Small World 6-Player map is an expansion and requires a copy of Small World and/or Small World Underground to play.

It appears the 6-player map doesn't come in a box. Will it fit into an existing SW or SWU box? My guess is that if you take out the empty punch cards from underneath the plastic, it might fit on top (assuming the folded map is the right size).

Small World is always a big hit when we go camping, and it would be fantastic to involve an extra player, but packing etc. might not be super friendly on the map if it's not in something.

This board is pretty thick, so it won't fit easily on top of the other material. I've taken out the plastic insert and now the boards all fit in the box. I have all the tokens in a little plastic organizer box (like a tackle box) and it all fits in the box...

Good luck! Cool

That's unfortunate to hear that it doesn't all fit in the box as standard, but, in fairness, having a 6-Player board would be well worth it, even if it couldn't fit in the standard box.

Just let me get the base boardgame first!

rasmussen81,

Thanks. Just to help me plan: would you say the 6-player map is the same thickness as the 2/3 and 4/5 boards (folded) put together (this is what it looked like to me from the best I can tell)? or is it thicker/thinner? Also, how close are the height/width of the folded 6-player map to the folded 4/5-player map?

thanks again.

I would have to look at the 6-player board to see...but if I remember right from the plastic insert, one board is down further than the other board. I don't think this 6-player board won't fit in the plastic insert, even if you take both of the original boards out.

For DAC cazaron, the 6-player board probably wasn't even a thought in their mind when the original game came out, so of course it doesn't fit in the original box with the insert. In fact, none of the expansions fit in the original insert...so I took it out as soon as I got the first expansion. But with the plastic gone, and some careful planning, almost everything fits in the box now! Very Happy

Absolutely, but that doesn't mean we single-box-loving people wouldn't love it more if it were able to!

I know what you mean! Cool I can fit everything except the "Be Not Afraid..." expansion in the main box. It's just too big/the wrong size to fit with everything else in the box.

Sadly this is a game with lots of great expansions and there are getting too many to fit in one box. It's a good problem to have! Very Happy

So, Days of Wonder, make a Small World Big Box like they do for Carcassonne:
which includes storage space for all the expansions in it along with all the meeples?

I'd love something like this, where you could buy the base game, Be Not Afraid, Cursed! and Grand Dames (and maybe the Royal Bonus, along with others), and the box has individual storage like the base game does, but for everything, including boards?

I know it probably won't happen, but my soul just died of happiness at the mere thought of something like this.

How about getting the Designer Edition when it comes out? All of the expansions are included and the box will fit everything with nice little dividers and such...sounds like something just up your alley! Cool

Is there a link to any info (a blog/forum post perhaps) describing the Designer Edition?
