Make SoC Soundtrack Fri, 01 July 2005 22:49
Hi,

I just started playing this game 2 weeks ago, and I think it is fantastic!

This is only an opinion post, but you players should make a CD with music that will set a nice mood to the game. I made a Custom Soundtrack that has songs from Excalibur, Conan, Lineage II, Diablo II, and LotR (Orchestrated Scoring is the Best). I feel this makes the game even more enjoyable and people play more enthusiastic.

Give it a try sometime and be creative, it really makes a difference for this excellent game, I think.

Good Luck!

This isn't a bad idea!

I might also suggest the following:

Film Soundtracks
Robinhood: Prince of Thieves
Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (Duel of the Fates)

Orchestral/Vocal
Orff: Carmina Burana (O Fortuna)
Holst: The Planets (Mars and Jupiter)
Wagner: The Flying Dutchman (Overture)

Enjoy!

Remember the superb album "King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table", from keybord master Rick Wakeman (70´s progressive rock).

Could be, too, his album "Journey to the center of the earth".

More contemporary music could be the soundtrack of "The Island of Dr. Moreau", if you want to get an evil mood...

I´ve used the later in RPG-like games, it was very nice.

I played for the first time yesterday (and then we played again). I had the soundtrack to "Kingdom of Heaven" playing in the background and it was excellent. We even had one of those awesome moments when my wife turned over the dreaded Morgan draw 3 blacks just as the music went dramatic with a "BWA!" We were all like "oh no!"

Gonna get my hands on Excalibur soundtrack and First Knight.

EDIT: btw I always try to have a cd playing in the background. It seems to always be a hit with my group. Saving Private Ryan for Memoir, World of Warcraft for D&D or epic fantasy games. I'm not looking for train music for TTR.

You're ok in my book Prog-Head!

Also another great soundtrack to play is BBC's Merlin, it's excellent (but not every song)
