I went Right, but he fought back with good cards (incl. both Infantry Assaults) to kill my mortar. I killed one, then he pulled back lone-fig inf but couldn't resist bringing it back in the fight, so lost it & I cleared my Right. His mortar made some shots over escarpments, but mostly missed including a retreat flag.
Next tried to go up the Left, but got shot down. Pulled back my lone-fig inf, but Air Power took it out. Next guy to go forward also got machine-gunned down and mortared. I should have used Barrage for one of those two, but thought I could get them by normal attacks. He played TFH(2/4) but didn't oblige me by attacking close, so I could use my Ambush.
Next, I sent my guy from the Right to his C-baseline advancing toward the exit while scoring 3h/3d to kill his basline inf which gave him a panic-attack so he moved 4 units back. He reduced it, so I pulled the lone-fig inf back to the Right out of mortar range, but he took it out several turns later.
Finally I drew Infantry Assault, and went up the Center. I got a Close Assault kill and an Ambush-kill to bring me to 5. I headed for the exit and killed a lone-fig inf.

My Italians opened with BEL for 3h/4d but I didn't pull it back to the hill, so he knocked it to 1 and later killed it with Air Power. The Allies just couldn't get an advance going and never drew (or Countered) infantry Assault. I thought the Italians had the initiative the whole game (even down to 3 cards). This is the only scenario so far that I felt 6 cards was too much for the Italians, though it turned out to be a close victory.
