Played Online. Less mistakes this time, except I forgot Steep Hills twice.
I led with Direct from HQ. Americans played Medics to recover 2. Attack-Center sent a guy next to hospital and next to forest, while I killed 1. He hit with Infantry Assault-Center (no kills); I played another Attack-Center. I retreated him off the hill, but didn't Take Ground (forgetting about Steep Hill). I drew Infantry Assault; he played TFH (activated 1) to kill guy next to hospital and Took Ground (leaving it open). Tied at 1.
Probe-Center: my Japanese climbed hill, went down and attacked (overrides steep or glitch?). He played Recon-in-Force; my Ambush retreated him. I played the same card and got a kill in Center, while moving near hospital on my Right. He played Attack-Right and got 2 hits on my lead (full) infantry in Center. I played Infantry Assault-Center and got the hospital medal, an exit medal and another kill. Light was 6. Japanese 5-1.
American's Assault-Right killed 2 of my guys before I could play my Assault-Right. Instead I played Probe-Rights. He had two wounded guys. I retreated his lone-figure infantry into the hospital, where he recovered one with Direct From HQ and wounded my guys. I played Barrage and rolled 2+ hits. |
Played Online. We made mistakes with all the new rules: forgot steep hills, mobile artillery can't move & shoot with Bombard, Barrage can't be played before 6.
On 4th round Japanese were up 4-0 after taking hospital. Then we each killed 1. Axis 5-1.
My Infantry Assault-Center killed 2, though his Ambush hit and retreated my 2-fig engineers. I then killed his guy in the hospital. He came up his Left and I met him in Close Assault, scoring 4 hits on his full unit and 2 flags on guy in Center. That's when he played Barrage at light=5. I played Move Out! but didn't kill lone-fig inf in Center hill, but 2-fig inf on my right for the comeback win. Allies 6-5.
I put 7-5; they should get a bonus 1 in case the score's ever 6-6. |
