With the removal of the British guns, the Axis infantry is a little more free to move. Although, again, my wife made the classic mistake of coming out to attack. Although it has worked for her before, she got caught this time. Her dice rolls weren't helping |
I started off with my collapsing defense strategy but the axis would have none of that. They quickly positioned themselves so that when they took the 2 units required for the allies to withdraw they would have more victims soon to follow. While the allies managed to get 2 units off (for one medal) the axis were soon claiming victory.
Modification note; removed allied 5 RHA for this game. |
Not entirely sure what happened...the allies came out fast and strong before long it was all over. Allies weren't looking to retreat in this one, just punish!
Modification note; removed allied 5 RHA for this game. |
Pulling my infantry units bakc to the safety of the terrain surrounding the withdrawl point I sent two armor forward to do battle. With the restrictive terrain and limited number of axis in the center I was able to kill off 3 units to my 2. Once the sacrificial goats were gone the brigade began the successful pull out. |
The allies, used to attacking and not so with withdrawing, moved into the fight. As a result losing more casualties than they probably should. A theory I was to test out on my turn as the allies next. |
