Operation Queen was an American operation aimed against the Ruhr River, as a staging point for a subsequent thrust over the river to the Rhine. It was conducted by the 1st and 9th U.S. Army. The offensive commenced on November 16th with one of the heaviest Allied tactical bombings of the war.
