Historical Background:
Major Goto, the commander of the Japanese units on the island of Angaur, decided to put his last defense on Romauldo Hill, a series of coral ridges. The fighting here went on for 4 weeks in which the 322 RCT was locked in vicous hand to hand close quarters combat with the Japanese. Flame throwers and bulldozers were used by the Marines to neutralize the Japanese cave complexes. Major Goto was killed fighting on 19 October.Fighting finally ceased on the 22 of October.

The two hill hexes with the Allied Objective Medals are Temporary Medal Objectives for the Allied Player.

Special Rules:
[Nations 3] Imperial Japanese Army command rules are in effect.
[Nations 4] US Marines Command Rules are in effect.
[Special Rule] The armor units with 2 figures and that have the Battle Stars tokens are Bulldozer units. They are command as armor units. They can move three hexes. They never battle. When they are adjacent to a cave hex, even the turn they move next to it, they roll 4 dice. If a Star is rolled the cave is sealed and the enemy unit on it, no matter the strength, is eliminated and counts as a medal for the Allied Player.
