Historical Background:
On September 24th, 1943, the Soviet forces attempted to force a crossing of the Dnieper River. To facilitate this attack they dropped paratroopers behind the German lines. Their orders were to help secure bridgeheads across the river. German counterattacks eliminated the paratroopers and repulsed the Soviet crossing.

Briefing:
Allies: 5 cards. You move first. Before drawing your cards place 4 Special force paratroop units on any clear hex within 3 hexes of the Dnieper on the Axis side of the river.
Axis: 5 cards.

Conditions of Victory:
9 medals.
The 3 city hexes marked with an 'A' (Kanev) is a temporary majority medal objective, turn start, worth 1 medal for both sides.
The two city hexes with a 'B' ( Moshny) is a majority temporary medal objective, turn start, worth 1 medal for both sides.
Korsun is a temporary medal objective worth 1 medal for the Allies.

Therefore the Axis start with 2 medals.

Special Rules:
The Dnieper is not fordable.
Bridges can only be crossed from the road.
Place Special Forces badges on the units designated. The paratroopers will also be Special Force infantry.(Troops 2)
Place engineer badges on the Russian units.(Troops-4)
Special weapons asset, late war(SWA-5), for the German units equipped with anti-tank guns.
Special weapons asset, late war(SWA-7), for the German unit equipped with a machine gun.
Special weapons asset(SWA-8), late war, for the German unit equipped with a mortar.
German armor unit with 1 figure is a Tiger tank.(Troops-16)
Place Tank Destroyer badge on the German unit. It is 4 figures. (Troops-24)
