Historical Background:
Most of the landings in southeastern England went unopposed. The only major action took place southwest of Hythe, at Dymchurch Redoubt. The 128 years old fortification, originally built to defend against Napoleon's Grande Armée, was now re-equipped with 6 inch guns, machine guns and surrounded by small Martello Towers, acting as bunkers.

Troops of the 35th Infantry division, along with waterproof Schwimmpanzers and a Flak battery landed at the fort. After repelling a furious infantry charge, the Germans brought the 88s ashore and called in airstrikes. Meanwhile, Panzers broke through and flanked the defenders on the right. The garrison finally gave up fighting by sunset.

The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn and you are in command. The rest is alternate history.
