Historical Background:
On the Aisne, the German offensive began on June 9 in the morning according to the plan set by List: it will be for four infantry divisions, to break through the French lines between Château-Porcien in the West and in Attigny then Is the headers to establish solid bridge. The purpose of the operation to allow the passage of Panzergruppe Guderian (1 ° and 2 ° PzD PzD) who comes to the post left XIII. AK (17.ID and 21.ID). and XXIII AK. (73.ID and 86.ID). In this sector the French army deploys second DI (23 ° C) Berry-au-Bac in Rethel and 14th DI (8 ° C) of General de Lattre de Rethel up Attigny. The 11 ° and 25 ° and the GRDI 3 BCC Independent Battalion Battle Tank (R35) are held in reserve. The Bush group is the second line behind the 14th DI. The Bush Group consists of the 3rd DCR and DLM 7th Machault area, about 20 kilometers behind the front.
The balance of power seems to favor to 2 against 1 for the Germans. But the situation is more mixed than it seems. The French divisions are motivated, and they hold that front for almost a month and held a consistent and strong defensive line behind the Aisne, having blown up all the bridges.
On June 9, at 3:45, an artillery preparation of unprecedented violence triggers on French positions. Fogged and explosions at 4:20 the attack was launched. The rafts are launched across the width of the front of attack. On the front of the 14th ID, several French attacks were launched against the bridgeheads to reduce one after the other while in Château-Porcien German engineering quickly set to work to build a floating bridge for the passage of Panzers.

The theater is set, the troops are in position, and history is in your hands. Your turn!
