Historical Background:
To reduce the German bridgehead on the Somme south of Abbeville, the Staff ally engaged against several attacks. After the failure of the 1st Armor Division UK , the 4th DCR General de Gaulle , while newly promoted , went on the attack . With more than 150 armored vehicles including 30 heavy B1 -bis and three battalions of infantry tanks which must be added the 22 RIC , loaned by a neighboring division , the 4th DCR was going to hit the positions of the 57th Infantry Division that German held the bridgehead.
On 28 May the French seized Huppy and advanced towards the Somme , crushing the German anti-tank guns , too weak to pierce the armor of B1 bis . Panicked , German troops streamed back to Abbeville. At night, the French ignoring the extent of their success is not exploited the gap created. On May 29 , the attack went in the direction of Mount Caubert . German troops entrenched on the heights and supported by several Flak 88 guns this time held their positions. The French attack lost its force as and when the loss of heavy tanks . At the end of the day on 29 May, the French had missed the opportunity to drive the Germans north of the Somme. On May 30 , the 4th DCR launched a final attack, but it ran into the reinforced Mount Caubert defense. On 31 May, the 4th DCR bloodless was relieved by the 51st "Highland Division " Abbeville German pocket was not resolved.

Special Rules:
French Army Command rules are in effect (Nation 7 - French Army)
Place a badge on the Dragon elite infantry units (Troops 2 - Specialized Units).
Place a badge on the German Heavy Anti-Tank Gun unit (Troops 23 - Heavy Anti-Tank Guns).
Special Weapon Asset early war rules (SWAs 1 - Special Weapon Assets) are in effect for the Axis unit equipped with Motar (SWAs 3 - Motar).
Apply rule Rivers (Land 8 - Rivers) The Somme is impassable except by bridges
Armor Breakthrough rules are in effect (Actions 22 - Armor Breakthrough) for the Allied player : One Allied Armor unit with two figures and the "Pegasus" badge may enter the board through by one hex. of the central section. This simulates the arrival of the 5°Light Cavalry Division.
The Air Power card is played as an Artillery Bombard Tactic card.

Place a "Pegasus" badge on the Armored cavalry units : They may move 3 hexes. All other allied armored move 2 hex.
Place a "battle star" on the two B1bis Elite armored unit with 4 figures : They may ignore the first flag and fight with an extra die when they have not moved before shooting.
