Historical Background:
The Georgian Uprising on Texel (5 April 1945 ? 20 May 1945) was an insurrection by the 882nd Infantry Battalion Königin Tamara of the Georgian Legion of the German Army stationed on the German occupied Dutch island of Texel. The battalion was made up of 1200 soldiers, with mainly German officers. The event has been described as Europe's last battlefield.
The heavily fortified island was part of the German Atlantic Wall system of defense. However, after the Allied landings in Normandy it was relegated to relative insignificance. The men of the rebellious battalion were Red Army soldiers from the Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic captured on the Eastern front. They had been given a choice: the captured soldiers could choose either to remain in the POW camps, which would have meant abuse, starvation, and very possibly death, or to serve the Germans and be allowed a degree of freedom. The battalion was formed of men who chose the latter option.
To avoid post-war accusations of treason, these Georgian soldiers needed to demonstrate their true loyalty before the war was over. When news came about the upcoming liberation by canadian troops, the Uprising began shortly after midnight on April 6th with the killing of several of the German commanders.

Briefing:
Allies: Draw 5 cards. You play first.
Axis: Draw 5 cards.

Conditions of Victory:
5 medals
The lighthouse near De Cocksdorp and the radio connection to the mainland in 't Hoorntje are each worth one temporary victory medal for the Allies. They count towards the Allied medal count as long as an Allied unit remains on that hex.

Special Rules:
Four of the Canadian infantry units are special forces (Troops 2 - Specialised units). They are marked with a British special forces badge.
The other Canadian units, the German units and the Georgian units (russian figures) are standard units. Mark the 4 Georgian troops with a Wehrmacht badge at the start of the game.
The hills along the beach on the Allied side are Sea Bluffs (Terrain 11 - Cliffs and Sea Bluffs).
All river hexes are Fordable Streams (Terrain 61 - Fordable streams).

At the start of the game, the Georgian units fight for the Axis side. They can be ordered by the Axis player only, and can be shot at by the Allied player. If they are destroyed, they give a medal to the Allied player.
At the start of each of his turns, before playing a command card, the Allied player rolls 2 dice. For each infantry symbol he rolls, he MUST choose one of the Georgian units to switch sides. (He removes the badge from that unit.) That unit is from then onward an Allied unit that can be ordered by the Allied player only and can be shot at by the Axis player. If it is destroyed, it gives a medal to the Axis player.
At the end of the Allied turn during which the second Georgian unit was turned, Axis reinforcements arrive from the main land. The Axis player places 3 full German Special Forces units (Troops 2 - Specialised units) on a shoreline hex on his baseline (the first line from his side). Mark those units with a special forces badge.

Air rules are NOT in effect.
