Historical Background:
Swirling fog lifted and descended with stage-curtain melodrama in the balmy small hours of August 7. Shortly after 1 a.m., American pickets reported a spatter of rifle fire, followed by the distinctive growl of the panzers on the hunt. Then the attack slammed against the 30th Division front in scalding, scarlet gusts: 26,000 Germans in the first echelon, with 120 tanks crewed by men in black uniforms. Machine guns cackled, and the percussive boom of tank main guns rippled up and down the line. American howitzers barked back, firing by earshot at bent shadows barely a thousand yards ahead.

Briefing:
Axis: 5 cards, you move first.
Allies: 5 cards.

Conditions of Victory:
8 medals.
St. Barthelemy and the Abbaye Blanche are temporary medal objectives for the Axis worth 1 medal.
The exit hex can be used by the Axis to gain 1 additional medal for each exiting unit.
Mortain(2 town hexes) is a temporary medal objective for the Axis worth 1 medal. A medal can be gained by the Axis by entering either hex.

Special Rules:
Night rules are in effect.
Follow Hill-317 rules as long as any Allied unit remains on any of the 6 marked(with an 'f') hill hexes. Do not be confused by the Hill 314 marking on the map. That was the designation of Montjoie by the Allies.
NOTE: Think of this rule as using the Recon-1 card as a very heavy artillery barrage over four continuous hexes, not as air power. Also, the Allies CAN use the Recon-1 card (as 'Air Power') before full daylight.(online bug that is taken into account in this scenario)
Place special forces badges on the German and U.S. units.(Troops-2)
Place engineer badges on the German units.(Troops-4)
Place anti-tank badges on the Allied units.(SWA-6)
Place mobile artillery badge on the German unit.(Troops-14)
ONLY elite armor can move 3 hexes. ALL other armor on both sides only move 2 hexes.

Warning:
Please note that this scenario was not approved by Richard Borg or Days of Wonder, so you have to check yourself about playability, potential gaming issues, etc.
