Historical Background:
3rd September 1939 - Mazury.
Coming from eastern Prussia, the 3rd German army of von KŘchler was advancing in Mazury area toward Warsaw. 7.Panzer Regiment was the head of column of Panzerdivision Kempf. On the north of Mlawa city, the panzers were stopped by an antitank roadblock made of rails and defended by bunkers. The panzers were unable to cross the line and suffered heavy losses before withdrawing in a wood, and the German infantry, without the help of the tanks, stayed under Polish fire. Finally German units continued their advance after bypassing the Polish strongpoint on the flanks. But in this first battle, Panzerdivision Kempf had lost 72 panzers of 164 on 1st September.
