Historical Background:
On November 1st 1943 the 3rd Marine division landed on Bougainville. The battle would be long and hard. Bougainville was the large island at the head of the Solomon Island chain. Throughout the Solomon Island campaigns, aircraft from Bougainville airfields would bomb and harass units after taking other islands.
This landing represents the landing that took place at Cape Torokina at Blue 1 beach on November 1st.

Briefing:


Allies: Take 6 command cards and move first

Axis: Take 5 command cards and move second

Conditions of Victory:
Allies: You must take 8 medals with one of these being the village at Buin

Axis: You must take 8 victory medals

Special Rules:
All Japanese command rules are in effect. See page 7 of Pacific Theater.
All Marine command rules are in effect. See page 7 of Pacific Theater.

Allies: The special forces infantry unit is a mortar unit. It has 2 figures and battles at 3-2-1 against infantry but with no terrain modifiers. Treat grenade hits as flags.

The units marked with a star are camouflaged. Rules for camouflage is found on page 8 of Pacific Theater
