Historical Background:
Faced with the loss of the bridge at Son, the 101st unsuccessfully attempted to capture a similar bridge a few kilometers away at Best, finding the approach blocked. Other units continued moving to the south and eventually reached the northern end of Eindhoven. At about noon they were met by reconnaissance units from XXX Corps. At 16:00 they made radio contact with the main force to the south and told them about the Son bridge, asking for a Bailey bridge to be brought forward. XXX Corps passed through Eindhoven and bivouacked south of Son, where they waited for the Royal Engineers to erect the Bailey bridge.

At the end of two days the XXX Corps advance was behind schedule, and the Nijmegen and Arnhem bridges were still in German hands.

Briefing:
Allies: 5 cards

Axis: 2 cards. After your 1st and 2nd turn draw 2 cards instead of 1. You'll have 4 cards for the rest of the battle.

Conditions of Victory:
6 medals
A bridge blown (see special rule) counts as one objective medal for the Axis player.

Capturing a bridge counts as one victory medal for the Allied player.

Special Rules:
All Allied units are elite.

The Axis artillery in Son is a Pak 41.
It fires 3-3-3.
Put 2 infantrymen next to the gun; when it's attacked, the Allied player gains a medal ONLY, if a grenade was rolled. Infantries rolled against it do count. After both infantrymen will be eliminated, the gun becomes inactive for the rest of the game, and the Allied Player gains no medal for this.

Axis infantry unit with a battle star is equipped with a mortar.

Blowing up a bridge: When the Allies move a unit on the left flank, then put a battle star marker on the bridge in Son. After 3 turns, the bridge is removed, and the Axis player receives 1 medal. An Allied unit can save the bridge by moving on it, remove the battle star, and the unit can still battle.

A bridge can be blown up again, if the Axis Player moves an infantry on the bridge. Again 3 turns, and remove the bridge,unless it's captured by the Allies.

Remove "Behind Enemy Lines" card from the deck.
