    first You play first

Historical Background:
British and Canadians forces failed miserably when attempting to a) capture key objectives in Dieppe and b) provide armor support to units moving inland from Green Beach. Road blocks prevents armor from entering the city and many were destroyed on the beach. Can you do better?

Briefing:
Allied Player: 6 command cards
German Player: 5 command cards
Remove Barrage and Air Power cards before play begins. They are not used.
Place Allied objective medals on Anti-Aircraft Battery (AAB), Factory/Railroad Yard, Factory/Harbor, Power Station, German HQ in Chateau and Road "To Appeville".

Conditions of Victory:
Allied Player: 9 victory points of which 3 must be medal objectives
German Player: Eliminate 9 Allied units
Alled medal objectives:
1. Eliminate German heavy AA battery (unit does not count as victory pt).
2. Occupy and destroy rail yard Factory using sabotage rules.
3. Occupy and destroy harbor Factory using sabotage rules.
4. Occupy and destroy Power Station using close assault die roll of star.
5. Occupy and maintain control of German HQ in Chateau. Control is maintained until enemy unit reoccupies hex.
6. Exit any 1 tank unit to Appeville.

Special Rules:
Sandbags on beach are seawalls and provide permanent protection (Terrain 12 - Seawall). The hex labeled Seawall in front of the Casino should have both a sandbag and wire.

Hill hexes adjacent to ocean/beach are cliffs (Terrain 11 Cliffs & Sea Bluffs) and require 2-hex move to/from beach, are impassable from ocean, and at same height as hexes to the rear.

Sabotage: The Factories and Power Station award medals only if destroyed. An occupying Allied unit may destroy the objective by rolling a single battle star. Roll 3 dice at the start of each turn the hex is occupied. Combat engineers immediately destroy the objective when they occupy the hex.

British Commandos: Place a badge on the British commando unit (Troops 2 - Specialized Units).

Combat Engineers: Place badges on Canadian engineers (Troops 4 - Combat Engineers). Combat engineers may remove road blocks in lieu of battling. Sabotage objective hexes are immediately destroyed when occupied by combat engineers.

Sniper: German 1 figure unit wit Rosette badge is sniper (Troops 10 - Snipers) and may use church to obtain LOS over town.

SWAs: German 2 figure infantry unit has an anti-tank gun (SWAs 2 - Anti-Tank Gun) and does not award victory point if eliminated. German 1 unit artillery fires 2/2/2/2, requires LOS to fire, star counts as hit on armor, ignores terrain battle reductions and does not award victory point if eliminated.

Heavy AA Battery: Big Guns rules apply (Troops 3 - Big Guns).

Destroyer: Allied destroyer may move, bombard, and take damage as per rules (Troops 12 - Destroyers).

Harbor: The 3 Harbor hexes may be occupied by infantry only with no terrain battle reductions or movement restrictions, but units may not cross harbor or river without using a bridge.

Road Blocks: Combat engineers in hex may remove road blocks (Terrain 40 - Road Blocks) in lieu of battling.

German HQ: The Chateaux is the German HQ and if captured, the Axis player immediately loses 1 random command card (Actions 17 - Capture HQ/Supply Tent). If Axis player recaptures the HQ, he replenishes his hand.
