Historical Background:
In Brittany, The French Resistance was very active and helped the US troops to liberate the western region. During the battle of Brest and the Crozon Peninsula, FFI and FTP units of colonel Eon, supported by some tanks of the US Task Force A, conquered the Menez Hom mountain after a real pitched battle. The first attack had been repelled on the 29th of August by the heavy fire of German machine-guns on the top of the hill. On the 1st of September,a decisive attack was done by the "Normandy" FTP Battalion and in the evening Hill 299 and Hill 330 were conquered and the US tanks could advance far away in the Crozon Peninsula.
