There are problems with this scenario: it cannot be set-up using the standard terrain tiles of Memoir '44 and the selected extensions. There are too many terrains of one or more types. Please contact the author.

Historical Background:
Isolated at the northern entry of the road bridge in Arnhem, the 2nd Para Battalion of Lt. Colonel Frost is separated from the remainder of the 1st Airborne Division by German "Kampfgruppe"s. The British wanted to join the Frost battalion, so they've prepared an attack starting from Elisabeth Hospital, along Nieder Rijn and in a parallel street, the Utrechtseweg. The attack is launched at 4 o'clock in the morning to benefit from the darkness. The 2nd South Staffordshire Battalion, reinforced by the 11th Para Beats, is on the left of the Utrechtseweg and the 1st Para Beats, reinforced by the remainders of the 3rd Para Beats is on the right of the Onderlangs. Opposite, the M÷ller Pioneer-Kampfgruppe consolidated its positions with the help of StuG Brigade 280, composed by StuG IIIs. The charge of the British paras will break under the fire of the German defenders. The battle will last until midday, when British paras would be pushed back in Oosterbeek by StuGs. The Frost battalion will remain isolated, without any help from the 1st Airborne, nor XXX Corps, so its destruction is ensured.

The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.

Briefing:
Allied Player [United Kingdom] : 5 command cards, you move first.

Axis Player [Germany] : 5 command cards.

Conditions of Victory:
6 medals.

Exit markers are available for the Allied Player only. Any exited Allied unit counts as a medal for the Allied Player.

St. Elisabeth Hospital is a Temporary Medal Objective for the Axis Player.

Special Rules:
Night attack rules are in effect.
If you do not own the Pacific Theater, use a 6-sided die. Place the 6 face up, to indicate an initial visibility of 6 hexes. At the start of each turn, the Axis player rolls 4 Battle dice to see if the visibility changes. For each star rolled, reduce the visibility range by 1, turning the 6-sided die on its appropriate side to reflect the reduced visibility.

All allied infantry units are elite British Paratroopers. They may move 2 and battle.

AT Guns rules are in effect for Allied units equipped with AT Guns. They are marked by a battle star.

Nieder Rijn (Lower Rhine) is impassable.

British Commonwealth Rules are in effect.
