Historical Background:
As soon as he received the authorization by the US High Command, general Leclerc ordered to his division to rush towards Paris. On the 24th of August, the 2nd French Armored Division fought against the main German defensive line in the south of the capital. A strong defensive position made by several 88mm antitank guns was met by Combat Command Warabiot at Croix de Berny crossroad and at the Fresnes prison. In the evening, the German defense surrendered : the road to Paris was open.
