Historical Background:
Six days after D-day, the British Army moves toward the town of Villers-Bocage. Unknown that Wittmann's 2nd Company of the 101st SS Heavy Panzer Battalion was in the area, the 7th Armored Division moved up Route Nationale 175. The German 2nd Company was moving up RN 316 to point 213, a hill and crossroad to RN 175. Wittmann's company normally consisted of 12 tanks, but due to loses because of fire from ships, and aircraft, Wittmann now commanded 6 Tiger tanks. When they were first spotted by units from A squadron, the tigers were mistaken for self-propelled artillery. The first Germans to see the advancing British left at high speed in their Kubelwagen. A squadron continued to move up the road toward point 213 as per orders, where they fired on and destroyed a second Kubelwagon. Wittmann was spotted at 9am, then he opened fire. In fifteen minutes, a total of 14 to 15 tanks and 13 to 15 transport vehicles were destroyed by the 101st SS Heavy Panzer Battalion, and most of those by Michael Wittman himself. You are now in charge, what will YOU do?
