Historical Background: In between the towns of Trun and Chambois the Axis forces are racing East trying to escape out of the Falaise pocket before the surround move of the Allies is complete. The Canadians are chasing after them towards Trun, a town located at the North side of the gap through which the Axis forces are trying to retreat. The Polish Armoured division moves in from the North behind the town to seal off this escape route to Vimoutiers.
Briefing: Most Axis forces are in full retreat and depleted, some will have to make a heroic stand whilst others will race for survival. In the days before the Allies made it to Trun, their artillery did some heavy shelling on the crossroads and vicinity. They pounded on the Axis forces clogging the road, racing to get away. Hence lots of the town is in ruins and the barbed wire and hedgehogs reflect debris slowing down movement on the road. Barbed wire obstacles can be removed. Elite Panzers have been scrambled together from outside the Falaise pocket to help in keeping the escape route open. The Canadians come in from the West to clear the town of defenders. The Polish come in from the North to prevent escape on the road to Vimoutiers.
Conditions of Victory: 9 medals. Axis also score for getting troops off the map through the exit point. Allies also score for capturing and holding the crossroads.
