Historical Background:
At the Casablanca Conference, the allied forced had decided that the counter attack in Europe would start with an attack on Sicily. The south coast would be assaulted by the American forces, while the British would take the east coast of the island. Landings were made in the early hours of the 10th of July 1943. The American rangers could simply walk up the beaches into the coastal town of Gela. Later that day, combined Italian and German forces launched a counter attack on the town of Gela.

Briefing:
Both players take 5 command cards.
Axis player plays first.

Conditions of Victory:
7 victory medals for both sides. The bridge counts as a temporary victory condition for the Allies. As long as an allied unit occupies the bridge, it counts as one victory medal.

Special Rules:
Us ranger troops are elite forces and marked with a badge. German elite troops are marked with a badge. The German elite tank has 4 figures and is marked with a badge. Italian royal army command rules are NOT in effect. The Italian troops consists of one figure less than normal.
