My question, which I'm sure has been asked before: Why are DoW's own prices so much higher than other "middle-man" online retailers?
|
We determine what we think is a fair price for our games and set an MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) which is the price you see for them on our webstore and at most local retail stores.
Stores who resell our games are free to set their prices at whatever they wish, including below the level at which they can make a profit. As you noticed, many online stores compete on price and even among online stores you will see a wide range of prices on a given game.

I see.
Well, then what are the chances that DoW might ever have a Super-SALE-4-Coupons-on-1-item-This-Day-Only special?
... hypothetically speaking, I mean.

Ok, but I noticed that if you want to buy in the UK, you still need to pay in Euros, making it much more expensive than in any other shop. Are there any plans for a DoW UK store?

We don't have any plans for a UK only web store, which wouldn't do much to reduce costs anyway as we'd still be shipping products from Continental Europe, where our warehouses are.
Unfortunately, the cost issue in the UK mostly stems from the weakened British pound, something we have no control over.
