It is because the server is down folks - and with everyone gone till I think the 10th (? - or whatever day Eric said that everyone will be gone till), I doubt anything can happen between now and then.
So lighten up please....things will return to normal when they come back.

 they said office will be closed, not the website. it is down sometimes but it will work soon i assume. it happened before.

Doubtful Kitty..someone needs to kick/reset the server..so if no DoW staff, very hard to have it reset (unless we can get a power blackout in the area of the server!! - and even that might not do the trick!)

We just logged on and discovered the issue. We are not in port yet, so it is doubtful we'll be able to address this right now. If we are lucky, we will manage to restart the server from the Airport sometime on the 9th (Sunday) in the afternoon East Coast time. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Ah, they are on a cruise ship...and one who can tell you (and please tell me you are NOT on a Carnival Cruise ship...PLEASE!), they are not easy to get ship to shore communications done on - namely for what Eric and company needs to do.
For those who want to know why I dislike Carnival Cruise Lines, here is the Reader's Digest form -
1) A Type 5 hurricane is coming toward the ship
2) We get told of it 5 mins before it hits (not like a type 5 just says "Hey, I'm going to spring up here...")
3) We are acting like Gilligan's island people. (The tiny ship was swaying and moving and everything...when you see the crew people stagger, you know it's bad!!) Then we have 1 engine left after 2 go out due to type 5. (Well .5 of the 2 that went out...it was permanently stuck in going to the left...not fun when you need to go straight!)
4) Arrive home 2 days later than plan and they expect US to pay for airfare back home (even with insurance)...needless to say, they expected everyone to....The words "fat chance" came to mind too.
5) And oh yeah, that mass letter to all the people on the cruise ship expressing their sorry for the lateness really touched my soul...NOT!

ps: we were unable to secure the necessary access at the airport, so it unfortunately looks like the earliest there will be a server restart and fix of the underlying issues will be tomorrow Monday (and even likely Tuesday) as Brice & al are in transit toward Europe.

Anyone know any reason why the Ticket to Ride game applet shouldn't work on Mac OSX 10.3 using Safari?
Was attempting to play my first game. When through the whole download and graphics decompress. Was able to click on three tickets to get the game started. then when my turn came around, was not able to do anything like drag cards. The only two things that did anything were (1) clicking on my set of tickets, and (2) clicking on zoom-in/out.
After trying everything plausible I had to leave the game.

Ticket to Ride applet works great for me under OS X in Safarai. OS X 10.3.7, Powerbook G4, latest updated Safari, latest Java updates.
Not sure why you'd be having problems. Check your Software Update?
