Anything Coming Soon

Has anyone heard anything about any new releases from Days of Wonder for the Memoir '44 gaming system?
I haven't heard anything and I feel like spending some money.

I haven't heard of any news...except for clues that there will be something for the upcoming anniversary.
If you're looking to spend money, I can recommend any of the other Days of Wonder games! My favorites lately (aside from Memoir '44) have been Small World and Cargo Noir. Small World is amazing but I love the idea of being a crime family trying to outbid other families for goods in Cargo Noir. So much fun to be had!!

Have you played any Commands and Colours games? It's the same system as Memoir, but for different time periods. BattleLore and Battle Cry (see the theme?) also use this system.

Commands & Colors: Ancients also uses the system to great effect, as well as Commands & Colors: Napoleonics and the recent Samurai Battles (which I have not played).
My son and I switch to BattleLore from time to time. Fantasy Flight has done a poor job of supporting it, in my opinion -- with the exception of the excellent Heroes system, their releases have largely been repackaged versions of what already existed with a new unit added -- but the game itself is excellent, and different enough from M44 to be good fun.

Maybe the people on the forum could make scenario's about the Ttalian campaign.
It would be good to have a well tested campaign, and input from a lot of players.

I have a few scenarios that I created a long time ago about Italy, but I've never crafted them together into a Campaign. I don't have the time with my other projects, plus I don't think I'm as good a scenario designer as others in the community.
Having said that, feel free to check out my Italy scenarios. They are all available on my User Page, if you want.

Thanks i will look at them, and scenario designing is difficult indeed, but campaigns should be historical correct wich is even harder to sell because people like mostly balanced campaigns.

I've started a campaign using the French Open 2011 scenarios, which feature the 29th infantry division landing at Normandy and proceeding inland.
You get 1 point for winning, 1 point per VP, and 1 point for each medal site you control at the end of the game. The scenarios are pretty balanced (so far) and you don't really need a reward.
I decided the winner gets a Reinforcements Card (from combat cards) and can play during the game or carry over to the next. I won 3 in a row, so I would have 3 going into the 4th, (which probably wasn't a good idea in retrospect). If you roll a flag, you get one wire or one sandbag (like Fortify card) to lay that turn by one ordered unit.
Omaha Beach Exit D1
Vaumicel Manor
Crossing of Elle River
Bretel Wood
Battle on Martinville Ridge
Capture of Vire (Note: Air Rules)
As to other new scenarios, I've got more on my to do list than I can play face-to-face this year, otherwise I'd have bought the Equipment Pack. I'm hoping for something more in the Online game, but I was hoping last year too.

Yeah, at this point I would like to see anything, provided it supports the board game. Its been a while now since something new was announced for Memoir '44 (or seems like it anyway).
I would even welcome any new board game. I personally have little interest in the online or IPAD games (my children have enough of those).

I'd like to second that motion.
And on the flip side... an Iwo Jima overlord with Mt. Surabachi.
Seems like a good thought for today (Memorial Day).

I'd like a complete French army and not in grey as in the equipment pack. Light blue please. So artillery, tanks and just do the infatry again, but now in the "right" color (should actually be brown).

Their actual uniforms in WW2 were brownish (light blue in WW1). However, in most games the French are represented by light blue troops, so I wouldn't mind to see that in memoir either. Moreover, the Russians are already a bit brownish too.
The main point is that a French army is NOT equipment! They shouldn't have come in grey!

I also prefer the actual board game to playing online. I only started playing M44 late last year. The Air Pack and CB 1 were out of print by then so I was VERY happy to find them available for purchase as PDF's! For me that kinda makes up for the lack of anything new - at least for now.

I'm with you the board game rules, preparing for the game gives you time to plan you moves. Now if only the cards and dice will go along with what you have planned

isn't that the truth
Although I Also play online, I love setting up the board, thinking about a strategy. Also seeing each other makes communicating a lot more fun en simple. See the other player almost cry because off bad dice result is half the game
Hopefully DOW does not forget their M44 boardgame players

I also love the communications part.
however I do not know what you mean by watching the other player cry because of bad die rolls.
I seem to be the one with the tissues.
But I still love to play the game. I figure God is teaching me to be a gracious loser.

Also, they could do 'Fortitude' before a beach scenairo. Here's an example:
Axis start with 5 command cards, Allies 6
Roll 4 die
If star or grenade rolled, Axis lose 1 command card for each symbol, because they believe the 'Fortitude' plan
Axis gain one extra card per tun until they get back to 5
This simulates them having to re-act to being duped by 'Fortitude'.
