Looneyllama and I will be testing the deployment system you might have read about here on an overlord map on Saturday 8th of March at 19:30 Paris-Brussels-Amsterdam-Rome time. We will be acting as Commanders in Chief, and anyone who wants to join us as Field General is welcome to do so.
Just be there (if you're in another time zone, check what time the game starts for you) and have all the most recent versions of vassal, Memoir module etc installed.
You can subscribe for this game in this thread.

Looks very interesting! How was the experience and how do you feel it went?

Well, compared to how it went last Friday, when I tried a regular size scenario in face to face:
It's better in face to face, with the actual cards printed out. On Vassal, selecting the units, keeping track of what "cards" were used, etc, was a bit cumbersome. Also: in overlord, you have a bit too much to place to do it on Vassal, especially when you do it without Field Generals helping out (placing the units the CinC assigns to their sections).
In face to face last friday, it was really great. It was fun to play a scenario where you were responsible of the troop placement. It was not badly balanced. I worked out great. Unfortunately, during the first game, the cards and dice were badly balanced. The second game was much better.
We played on the map of Twin Villages, and the first game was 6-0 for the Allies: A first turn air power took out a Tiger tank (inf+gre; rr gre), 2 figures from a regular tank (arm+flg) unit, a full artillery unit (str + gre) and a sniper (ing+gre). Just crazy rolls.
After that, it was a game with general advance, assault, firefight, … on one side and probes on the other. The second game however was much closer. It ended 6-2 for the Axis, but Axis had several one fig units left.
