Custom Walt Disney World Ticket to Ride Board Fri, 31 January 2020 20:10
Hi everyone! Long time player, first time poster to these boards. I'm hoping you guys can give me a little help with a project I'm currently working on.

I'm creating a custom map of Walt Disney World to give my wife on her birthday. I have an image of the WDW property that I like, and found that the Pennsylvania TTR map lines up fairly well with the resorts/parks on the Disney Map. (I printed out multiple maps and used a marker to draw out my routes/destinations, they look like the drawings of an insane person, haha.) I bought a blank board game from amazon (18"x18") and was planning on printing out the final product at Staples, (I checked the original image with the worker there who said an 18"x20" would work) and mod-podging the paper to the board. For the tickets I bought blank playing cards on amazon and blank labels to print Disney themed trains (monorails?/ride vehicles?) onto them.
Does this all seem like the best way to go about making this, or do you guys have any tips/tricks for this process?

The biggest issue that I haven't figured out yet is the actual trains... I would love to 3d print some monorails (I saw an awesome design on thingiverse) and paint them different colors, but i dont have a 3d printer and it would be too costly to use a company... For 200 trains (4 sets of 50 trains) it would be over $250. Amazon, etsy and Ebay seemed too expensive just to buy spare trains as well. Any help or pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated!

I'd be happy to share the map when it's all done!

What if you just glued your custom map on the back of your TTR board? Then you could use the same trains and it would turn your current game into a map-pack style system where you can pick which version to play.

I've made some custom cards before by buying 8.5x11' sticker paper and printing my custom stuff on there, cutting it out, and sticking it to the cards I want to use.

Good luck and have fun!

Good idea with gluing to the back of the current board. I have until march 16th to get this done, so depending on how smoothly the process goes I was thinking about doing a Magic Kingdom only map on the back of the blank board. If it's getting down to crunch time I would probably use your suggestion. That would solve my train dilemma. Thanks!
