I know the Allies invaded at low tide on D-Day to avoid the teller mines attached to poles, but how about a House Rule where mine tokens are placed on sea hexes. When entered by a Landing Craft, flip the mine token. A '4' automatically destroys the LC and unit, all other numbers are ignored. Remove mine token after being revealed.

Might try this on the D-Day maps as they seem weighted to the Allies.

Thoughts?

I don't think, the main idea of allied troops was to go on the beach, not to stay in water, ingeeners would not have stopped to remove mines in water when germans were shooting at them

Very Happy seems worthy of consideration. How many mine tokens would be placed to approximate the actual historic danger?

And let us know of actual losses caused when you do get a chance to play with this in a game. Could be "Very Interesting"

If you only put three per beach section, the allies would have an added logistical problem getting around them, But it would be really stupid to sail unto them instead of avoiding them. My two cents.
